Description

Slide # 3 & 4 - The World WILL be different

God will turn (at least some) deserts into gardens (Isaiah 41:17-20; Zechariah 14:8-11)

Isaiah 41:17-20 (ESV) When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the LORD will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together, that they may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.

  1. 14:8-11 (ESV) On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter. And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day the LORD will be one and his name one. The whole land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem shall remain aloft on its site from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. And it shall be inhabited, for there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction. Jerusalem shall dwell in security.

Slide # 5-7: The Face of the World Will be Changed

  1. U N on steroids! He will judge the nations, settle disputes) Isaiah 2:4; Joel 3:9-12;Matt 25:31-34,41)

  1. 2:4 (ESV) He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

Joel 3:9-12 (ESV) Proclaim this among the nations: Consecrate for war; stir up the mighty men. Let all the men of war draw near; let them come up. Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am a warrior.” Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves there. Bring down your warriors, O Lord. Let the nations stir themselves up and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

Matthew 25:31–34, 41 (ESV) “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Slide # 8 – The Earth Will Be filled with the knowledge of God

The whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord (Isaiah 6:6-9; 11:9 (750?); Hab. 2:14 (605?))

and die in the millennium (Rev. 19:20-21;Isaiah 65:20-25;)

Revelation 19:20-21 (ESV) And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

  1. 65:20–23 (ESV) No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain or bear children for calamity, for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the Lord, and their descendants with them.

Slide # 11 – Satan turned Loose for a short time

Satan loosed from the Pit - He gathers the nations for the last battle - His armies destroyed be the Lord (Revelation 20:7-9)

Revelation 20:7-9 (ESV) And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them.

Slide # 12 – Satan’s Judgement

Satan’s Final Judgement - and end (Lake of Fire) (John 16:8-11; Rev 20:10)

John 16:8-11 (ESV) And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

  1. 20:10 (ESV) . . . and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Slide # 13 Resurrection of the Dead

Resurrection of the dead (2 Tim 4:1-2; 1 Pet 4:4-6; Rev 20:12)

2 Timothy 4:1-2 (ESV) I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

1 Peter 4:4-5 (ESV) With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they (those living in debauchery) will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Revelation 20:12 (ESV) And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

Slide # 14 The Great White Throne

Judgement from the books (Rev 20:11-15)

Revelation 20:11-15 (ESV) Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead . . . standing before the throne, and books were opened. . . And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

1 John 3:2-3 (ESV) Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

Slide # 16 - New Heaven and New Earth

The former things are gone (Isaiah 65:17)

  1. 65:17-18 (ESV) For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness.

The heavens will pass away with a roar (2 Peter 3:10-13)

2 Peter 3:10-13 (ESV) But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Slide # 17 – John saw the New Heaven and New Earth

John “saw” the new heaven and earth (Revelation 21:1-3)

Revelation 21:1-3 (ESV) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

  1. 2:18-20 (ESV) And I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down in safety. And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the LORD.

Slide # 19 – Israel will forever be before the Lord

Israel will remain before the lord forever (Isaiah 66:22)

Isaiah 66:22-23 (ESV) “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your offspring and your name remain.

Slide # 20 – 22 Israel cannot be numbered

Israel cannot be numbered! (Gen 13:14-16; Gen 22:16-17; Jer. 33:22)

  1. 13:14-16 (ESV) The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted.

Genesis 22:15-17 (ESV) And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,

Jeremiah 33:22 (ESV) As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”

Slide # 23-25 The New Heavens and Earth are Eternal

It is Eternal! (Isaiah 66:22-23; Psalm 45:6-7; Psalm 145:13; Daniel 4:2-3; Daniel 7:27-28a)

Isaiah 66:22-23 (ESV) “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your offspring and your name remain. From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, declares the LORD.

Psalm 45:6a (ESV) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.

Psalm 145:13a (ESV) Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Daniel 4:2–3 (KJV) I (Nebuchadnezzar) thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me. How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Daniel 7:27–28a (ESV) And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’

Slide # 26 -- Daniel 7:28a “Here is the end of the matter.

Daniel 7:28 (ESV) “Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly alarmed me, and my color changed, but I kept the matter in my heart.”

And this is great advice for us as well!

Let’s keep the Words in our hearts!
